In the morning, departure to Targoviste, the capital of Wallachia for over 300 years. The Princely Court of Targoviste was founded between the 14th and 15th century by the Prince of Wallachia, Mircea the Elder Vlad Tepes' grandfather , who added the Chindia tower, for guard and defense.

We continue our visit towards the Olt valley, famous for it's monasteries and arrive in the city of Curtea de Arges, a 13th century voivodal residence. Curtea de Arges has become the second capital of Wallachia in the 14th century. In the center of the city can be found the ruins of the princely court and the princely church of Saint Nicholas. We visit Curtea de Arges monastery , built between 1512 and 1517 by Prince Neagoe Basarab, and considered to be the most beautiful monastery in central and eastern Europe. The monastery still retains its legendary aura that tells us about it's construction by the most famous mason: Master Manole . Inside the church. there are also the tombs of the first kings of Romania.

Nearby we visit the Saint Nicolas Church Erected by the founding prince of Wallachia Basarab the First, in the mid-14th century, and painted in the Byzantine and Paleological Renaissance style. The church preserves a magnificent mural painting in the Byzantine style. It was the seat of the first Orthodox Christian Metropolitan of Wallachia. Lunch at a traditional restaurant in Curtea de Arges.

After lunch, departure to the Campulung Namaesti Monastery buit as a troglodyte church where the oldest icon of Christianity is located. It is said that the famous icon of Our Lady has been painted by Apostle Luke and was brought here by Apostle Andrew. In the late afternoon, we return to Bucharest.

Practical information: the visit can be arranged every day, except Monday, when the princely court of Targoviste is closed.
The tour begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends around 8:00 p.m.
