Day 1: Bucarest - Sinaia - Bran - Brasov ( 200km )

In the morning, departure to Sinaia called "the Pearl of the Carpathians" , the best known mountain resort in Romania. Visit to Peles Castle , one of the most beautiful castles in Europe, an ancient royal residence, built at the end of the 19th century in Neo-Gothic style, typical for Bavarian castles. The interior of the Peles castle includes 160 rooms, arranged and furnished in all possible shapes, with a clear predominance of wood carving. Close visit to Sinaia Monastery, buit in the romanian Brancovenesc style.

We continue to Bran and visit the Bran Castle , known by the name of Dracula's Castle, one of the most picturesque in Romania, built in the 13th century by the teutonic knight Dietrich and restored in later periods. Since 1920, Bran Castle has become the residence for the rulers of the Romanian Kingdom. Queen Maria of Saxony-Coburg-Gotha, who massively renovated the interiors according to the art and taste of the romanian craft of that time, and her daughter, princess Ileana of Romania, lived there for a long time. In 1948, when the romanian royal family was banished by the communist occupation forces, the castle was occupied.

Arrival to Brasov and guided tour of the city , one of the most fascinating medieval towns of Romania, while you can admire the Schei District with Saint Nicolas church and the first romanian school ( XV century), Biserica Neagrã (Black Church) the largest church in Romania built in the Gothic style and the ancient fortifications of the city with the guild bastions. Typical dinner and overnight stay in Brasov.

Day 2: Brasov - Sighisoara - Sibiu ( 250km )

After breakfast, departure to Sighisoara, the "fortress city" among the very few inhabited areas in Eastern Europe. Sighisoara maintains a perfectly preserved historical center, with the urban structure and characteristic buildings of a medieval citadel, a World's Heritage Site. The building representing the symbol of the city is the Clock Tower, built in 1556 of 64 meters high. There are several defense towers that crown the city and are named after their builders: the tower of Cordai, the Tailors and the Shoemakers. Among the houses in the village is the House of Vlad Dracul, a building where the great Lord of Wallachia lived and where his son, Vlad Tepes was born.

We continue to Sibiu, the former european capital of culture. Guided tour in the historical center of Sibiu, the european capital, known for it's fortification system considered to be the largest in Transylvania with over 7 km of walls from which important vestiges are preserved. You can admire Piazza Grande with the particularity of the city, the roofs with "the eyes that follow you", Piazza Piccola with the Ponte delle Bugie and the imposing evangelical church buit in the Gothic style of the 14th century, which preserves a particular fresco presenting Jesus in 7 different images. The church is also known for its organ, considered to be the largest in Romania, 10.000 pipes. Typical dinner and overnight in Sibiu.

Day 3: Sibiu - Cozia - Curtea de Arges - Bucharest ( 300km )

Today we return to Bucharest crossing the beautiful valley of the Olt river. Stop to Cozia to visit the Cozia Monastery , buit in the 14th century. Known as one of the oldest historical and art complexes in Romania, the Cozia Monastery is located on the right bank of the Olt river. The elements of the Byzantine architectural style are explicitly declared by the facades of the central church, in alternating bands of brick and large blocks of stone. We continue to visit Curtea de Arges Monastery the former capital of Wallachia. Curtea de Arges monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Eastern Europe, built in the early 16th century by Prince Neagoe Basarab and the famous Master Manole, with his legend that lives until today. Late afternoon arrival in Bucharest and end of services.
